The NLU18MHL is pleased to announce that Alex Austin of the Western Kings has been voted Most Gentlemanly & Effective Player by its member teams.
In his second season with the Kings, Austin has been imprsssive in his development and his play reflects the work he has put in. In his first season, Alex showed he was capable of playing at a high level at times but "his consistency wasn't always there", accrdoing to Kings Governor Jason Oak. In the offseason he chose to put the work in and hit the gym and ice all summer to be prepared and has had more than impressive second tenure in the League. He has shown he is an elite forward in the NLU18MHL by leading the Kings in scoring with 41 points (22G, 19A) while only compiling 26 PIMs. He appeared in all of the teams 32 regular season games.
Alex was presented the Bob Lee Trophy by League Executive member Keith Cronin on February 7th in Harbour Grace.
