The NLU18MHL handed out a number of League awards to players on the Pinnacle Growlers on Saturday night. Award winners included
Top Defenseman: #21 Ryan Dawe
Ryan enjoyed a great second year in the U18 Major League, appearing in thirty-one (31) games for the Growlers. The left shooting defenseman from Sr. John’s scored twenty-seven (27) points, based on ten (10) goals and seventeen (17) assists, while only serving twenty-six (26) penalty minutes. Additionally, Ryan was a stand out on special teams where he was able to record two (2) power play and one (1) short handed goal.
Top Goalie:#1 Nathaniel Leonard
Hailing from CBS, Nathaniel Leonard had an impressive year tending goal for the first-place Pinnacle Growlers where he was voted Top Goaltender by his peers within the U18 Major Hockey League. Nathaniel appeared in sixteen (16) games for the Growlers in which he won 13 of those and had a league leading goals against average of 1.85.
Top Goals Against Average: #1 Nathaniel Leonard / #3 Dace Gruchy
Both Growlers goalies share in this statistical League award, where they combined for an impressive 2.06 goals against average and .917 save percentage in 32 regular season games.
